Community Service

Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Community Service has long been a major focus of Girl Scouts. To help you to find ways to make the world a better place, we have designed the Community Service page.
"Operation: Cookie"continues to deliver Girl Scout cookies to our military personnel in Iraq and Afghanistan . Once again, DHL provides the personnel and equipment to ensure that our cargo of Girl Scout Cookies arrive safely and quickly. Thanks to all who have supported this program in the past, and remember that there is still time to donate.

Send Your Cards and Notes to Our Military Personnel

thank you card
Our first shipment of 2011 Girl Scout Cookies will be leaving Nassau County in April. Along with the cookies we send to our military men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan, we would like to send them our good wishes, too.
Please deliver your cards and notes to Girl Scouts of Nassau County Service Center by Friday, April 15. We will include them in our shipment of Girl Scout Cookies.
Please remember: Handmade cards are the most cherished. Girls should not include last names or other identifying information. Leader can include an email address - so that soldiers can send their thanks.

Are you interested in joining
Girls Go the Distance Walkathon
on Sunday, June 5, 2011?
What is Girls Go the Distance?
Girls Go the Distance is a walkathon and fund raiser that brings together families, Troops, community and local corporations to support GSNC’s Healthy Living Initiative.
Join us for a 2 mile walk, entertainment, activities and education - all centered around the Healthy Living theme! Girl Scouts can participate in fun activities that can help them learn about healthy choices, while our Girl Scout Alumnae and corporate teams can meet today's Girl Scouts, network with peers and be real-life role models for our girls!
We are thrilled to have the inspiring Amy Palmiero-Winters as our Grand Marshal.
Click here to find out why Amy is a phenomenal role model for Nassau County's girls.
